Under the auspices of Deputy PM, Minister Silvan Shalom the Golan Wine Festival opened in a Golan Regional Council event
Golan Tourism Director, Shmulik Chazan told INN, “This is the third year we hold the festival. There are 60 wineries participating whose doors will be open for public visits, with free samples and wine fairs. There are also about 40 ‘garage’ wineries that cannot accommodate public visits. The quality of Golan vineyards is so high, that even distant wineries like Carmel and Barkan have Golan vineyards.”
The Golan Heights are east of the Galilee in northern Israel, incorporating many towns, agriculture, orchards, dairies and wineries, and naturally, the Mt Hermon ski resort.
