Danino: Fighting Crime As Important as Iran

The Israel Police force has grown by almost 1,000 officers in the past three years after years of neglect, Police Chief Yochanan Danino said Wednesday, speaking to the Committee for the Interior. However, he said, “We have barely reached the number of officers we had decades ago.”

The manpower shortage makes it difficult for officers to fulfill all of their tasks, he said. He called to prioritize the police, saying, “We are fighting for Israeli society. That is a strategic matter no less important than the Iranian threat.”
