The Knesset has approved a motion to give increased powers in regards to animal rights. Officials charged with enforcing laws preventing animal cruelty will have be authorized to go further in order to ensure the law is upheld.

The motion was put forth by MKs Eitan Cabel (Labor), Dov Henin (Hadash), and Uri Ariel (Ichud Leumi).
