MK Maklev: No Desecrating Shabbat for Prophet Samuel

Deputy Knesset Speaker Uri Maklev called on Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovitch and Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov, Tuesday, to make sure that Saturday night's events to mark the anniversary of the passing of the prophet Samuel and preparations for those events at his tomb, northwest of Jerusalem, do not cause desecration of the Sabbath.

Rabbi Maklev said preparations should be made before the start of Shabbat and called on the public not to arrive at the tomb immediately at the end of the Sabbath so that security forces can make last-minute preparations. He said events should be scheduled so that people don't have to desecrate Shabbat to arrive on time, and that the schedule be publicized appropriately.
