Police announced Monday night that they had arrested an Arab for the sexual assault of a woman in Tel Aviv over the weekend. The incident occurred in the underground parking lot of the Gan Ha'ir center in Tel Aviv. The suspect is a 21 year old Arab from Palestinian Authority controlled areas who was in Israel illegally. The victim was 18 years old.
The Arab was arrested after DNA samples taken from him matched those found on his victim. He is to be arraigned Tuesday, and police will ask the court that he be kept in custody until proceedings against him are complete.
