The Shabak said Monday evening that the hunger strike by Arab security prisoners and terrorists in Israeli jails had ended. The hunger strike, which was called by prisoners demanding better conditions, lasted for nearly 80 days. News reports quoted Palestinian Authority officials as saying that the prisoners had signed an agreement with representatives of the Prisons Service, ending the strike.

Among the concessions Israel made to the terrorists and security prisoners were an end to solitary confinement for many of the prisoners, and allowing family members of terrorists living in PA areas to enter Israel and visit them. In addition, two more Arab television stations will be added to the TV options in many of the prisoners' cells.
