Most indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to moderate losses, Sunday, to open up a new trading week. The TA Composite index declined .53 percent to 1,022.54, while the TA 100 closed at 1,032.86, down .59 percent, including a .64-percent drop to 1,127.91 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The lone bright spot comprised the biomed stocks, which rose .81 percent to 779.06, while the rest of the technology index fell .41 percent to 340.71. Worst hit were the bank issues, which fell 1.24 percent to 979.65 as the financial institutions finished the day at 910.90, down 1.07 percent, including a .87 percent decline by the insurance stocks to 1,036.36. The same percentage drop meant a .87 percent close for the communications and media index. The real estate index declined .73 percent to 285.19 and the oil and natural gas stocks finished the day at 1.236.39, down a tenth of a percent.
