Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom said, Friday, that there was not alternative to legislation to authorize as-yet unauthorized Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria (Shomron). His comment came during a conversation with Chairman Moshe Rosenbaum of the local council in the Binyamin-region community of Beit El, whose Ulpana (religious girls' high school) neighborhood faces uprooting.
