A committee appointed byDefenseMinistry Director-Generalto examinethereasons forfailuresinthe office's recording system foundthat the losswasnotintentionaland that theproblem was technical, according to a Friday morning report on Kol Yisrael government radio. Suspicion of sabotage was aroused when no recordings were to be found for the State Comptroller's investigation of of Boaz Harpazand his role in the last selection of the Israel Defense Forces chief of staff.
According to the report,five of theDefenseMinistry'stechnicians -including one from an external company - were the only onesallowed into theroom wherethe recordingandcomputersystems were installed. Theyunderwent polygraph testingand were found tobe telling the truth.
