Harpaz Case: Defense Ministry Recorders Not Sabotaged

A committee appointed by Defense Ministry Director-General to examine the reasons for failures in the office's recording system found that the loss was not intentional and that the problem was technical, according to a Friday morning report on Kol Yisrael government radio. Suspicion of sabotage was aroused when no recordings were to be found for the State Comptroller's investigation of of Boaz Harpaz and his role in the last selection of the Israel Defense Forces chief of staff.

According to the report, five of the Defense Ministry's technicians - including one from an external company - were the only ones allowed into the room where the recording and computer systems were installed. They underwent polygraph testing and were found to be telling the truth.
