Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Tuesday-morning trading in the plus column. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite index stood at 1,040.39, up .32 percent, while the TA 100 rose .34 percent to 1,051.60, including a .33 percent advance by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the way were the financial institutions, which stood at 927.23, up .84 percent. The insurance stocks advanced .79 percent to 1,043.54, while the banking index stood at 1,002.18, up .68 percent. The biomed issues advanced eight tenths of a percent to 784.56, while the rest of the technology stocks were off .11 percent at 336.48. The communications and media index rose .55 percent to 622.14, while the oil and gas issues stood at 1,225.79, up half a percent, and the real estate issues stood at 289.44, up .44 percent.
