Arabs to Remain in Administrative Detention

The High Court on Monday rejected two petitions by Arabs being held in Israeli prisons against their administrative detention. The two are among the Arab security prisoners on a hunger strike, and claim to have not eaten for 70 days.

The court said that the two had been involved in numerous terror attacks, and that it had seen security material from the Shabak regarding the case that convinced it that the two needed to remain in prison, even before a trial date is set. The court could not intervene in what is essentially a security decision, it said.
