Barak: Ashkenazi and Associates Received Bribes

Defense Minister Ehud Barak sent a letter to Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, Sunday, accusing former chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi of the Israel Defense Forces and associates of serious crimes, including receiving bribes. Barak claims they gave Boaz Harpaz a foothold in the appointment of officers who advanced Harpaz's interests in the defense establishment. The letter accuses Ashkenazi and his associates of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, coordination of information, fraud and breach of trust, among other charges.

Ashkenazi reacted by saying, "The claim is delusional and unfounded. It's regrettable that Defense Minister Ehud Barak, in his serious [political] distress, brings up delusional claims bordering on poor judgement."
