Moderate to sharp losses were posted by most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange at the end of trading on Sunday. The TA Composite index declined 1.76 percent to 1,037.63, while the same percentage drop meant a 1,147.07 closing for the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues, as the TA 100 fell 1.78 percent to 1,048.52.
The lone bright spot was the oil and natural gas index, which rose a tenth of a percent to 1,230.13. Worst hit were most of the technology stocks, which closed, on average, at 335.24, down 2.56, while the biomed issues declined 1.77 percent to 775.83. Bank stocks dropped 2.18 percent to 997.46, as the financial institutions finished the day at 921.97, down 1.76 percent, including a close of 1,043.30 by the insurance index, down 1.21 percent. The communications and media issues slumped 1.73 percent to 619.51 and the real estate stocks closed at 287.17, down 1.48 percent.
