The Ministerial Law Committee will discuss a proposed law by Yisrael Beiteinu that would require all Israelis to serve either in the IDF or National Service. According to the law, everyone would have to serve in the IDF, unless they received an exemption, in which case they would have to perform national service.

The Defense Minister would have the final say over exemptions or postponements for students in religious study programs, or to provide exemptions for superior students. Such exemptions could not total more than 1,000 annually.
