Moroccan authorities said Sunday that they had broken up a terrorist group with connections to Al Qaeda. The group was led by “a top figure of Mujahideen of Morocco,” a terror group that was already known to officials, and was “well organized, very dangerous and linked to contacts in other countries in the region,” the officials said.
“The head of the network holds close ties with international terrorist groups and succeeded in smuggling weapons into Morocco... with the aim of carrying out attacks," a statement by Moroccan officials added.
