At least 25 people have been killed in fighting in Syria over the past two days, opposition forces reported Wednesday. On Tuesday, 10 civilians were killed by an army shell in a village near the Turkish border.

On Wednesday, a rebel ambush killed 15 soldiers.

The United Nations has pledged to station 300 unarmed observers in Syria by the end of the month, in an attempt to enforce a ceasefire deal.
