Shas to Lapid: Nobody’s Buying It

The Shas party criticized Yair Lapid on Tuesday over his statements regarding low IDF enlistment in the hareidi-religious community. “Mr. Lapid, we don’t hate you, but the public isn’t falling for your hypocritical smooth talk anymore,” party spokespeople said.

“If you would just learn about the subject in a bit more depth, you’d discover that those learning Judaism do not receive any special stipends, and that the overwhelming majority of the traditional-religious community did serve in the army, in combat and in elite units, while you were storming old newspapers for [IDF magazine] B’Machaneh,” they added.
