Menachem Lev, a representative of the local council, invited Knesset members from the leftist Meretz party to visit the Ulpana (religious girls' high school) neighborhood in the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Beit El, Tuesday morning.
The Knesset members were part of a group that was denied entrance to the community by police because of their intent to demonstrate against a delay in the demolition of homes in the neighborhood, originally scheduled for Tuesday under a Supreme Court order. Meretz activists replied to Lev by yelling, "Return to Israel. You have no business here. You're criminals."
