Prices were down slightly, Tuesday morning, as trading got under way at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite index stood at 1,055.08, down .06 percent, while the TA 100 slipped .08 percent to 1,065.69, despite a rise of .11 percent to 1,165.67 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the bank stocks, which rose three tenths of a percent to 1,014.19, but a .22 percent decline to 1.068.46 by the insurance index limited the financial institutions to a gain of .08 percent. The biomed issues slipped .05 percent to 804.25, while the rest of the technology stocks declined .24 percent to 339.03. The same percentage drop meant a 294.48 posting for the real estate stocks, while the communications and media index fell a tenth of a percent to 635.03. The oil and natural gas issues stood at 1,239.72, down .12 percent.
