Honenu: Three Arrested in Bat Yam

Two students and a teacher from a yeshiva in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv, were arrested, Sunday evening, following clashes with police who came to arrest one of the rabbis at the yeshiva for not appearing at a court hearing on suspicions he went illegally to the uprooted northern Samarian Jewish community of Homesh, two years ago, according to the Honenu legal-aid organization. The police entered the rabbi's apartment by force after his wife told them he was not at home and was afraid to open the door because she was alone with their children.

Clashes broke out between police and members of the Bat Yam Torah Core Group who arrived on the scene. One of the activists told Arutz Sheva that the crowd that came to protest the police action numbered 300, adding that police used pepper spray against them, that police used violence against women, and that he saw three officers pull their guns.
