A panel of extremist Islamic clerics has expressed support for Mohammed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s presidential candidate in Egypt, in an attempt to prevent a split among conservative Muslim voters.
Although the support of the panel increases Morsi’s chances, he still faces strong opponents such as former Foreign Minister Amr Moussa.
