Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started trading, Tuesday morning, with modest gains. About 20 minutes into the session, the TA Composite index stood at 1,049.52, up .52 percent, while the TA 100 advanced .55 percent to 1,060.43, including a .62 percent gain to 1,155.35 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the communications and media stocks, which rose 1.48 percent to 630.77, followed by the bank index, which stood at 1,001.78, up nine tenths of a percent, as the financial institutions rose .59 percent to 928.77, including a .59 percent increase to 1,061.85 by the insurance issues. The real estate stocks rose .79 percent to 295.80 and the oil and natural gas index stood at 1,256.45, up .42 percent. The biomed issues rose .27 percent to 797.33, while the rest of the technology stocks declined .39 percent to 339.06.
