Jordanian Energy Minister Travels to Cairo

Dr. Khaled Touqan, Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources met, Monday, in Cairo with his Egyptian counterpart, Mohamed Ghorab, according to the Hashemite Kingdom's Petra news agency. They reportedly discussed energy cooperation between the two countries, stressing their strong strategic ties and their desire to cultivate those ties.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of Egypt announcing it wanted to stop its supply of natural gas to Israel, which shares a pipeline to Jordan which has been sabotaged on a regular basis since the January 2011.
