Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz reacted, Sunday evening, to Egypt's announcement that it is cancelling its natural gas deal with Israel by saying he was worried from a political and economic point of view.

He explained, "This is adangerous precedentthat clouds thepeace agreementsand theatmosphere ofpeacebetween Egypt and Israel.We mustnowmakean increased effort -a double effort for an earlyflow ofIsraeli gasfrom April2013 to the year2012 andto resolve allbureaucratic obstaclestostrengthenour energyindependenceand make electricity less expensive for the market andcitizensalike."
