Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest gains to start the trading week, Sunday. The TA Composite index rose eight tenths of a percent to 1,055.95 while the TA 100 closed at 1,067.04, up .79 percent, including a three-quarters of a percent gain to 1,161.74 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the way were the biomed stocks, which rose 4.74 percent to 809.98, while the rest of the technology index finished the day at 345.40, up 1.98 percent. The bank issues rose 1.46 percent to 1,009.54 as the financial institutions closed at 938.73, up 1.1 percent, including a .34 percent advance to 1,075.86 by the insurance stocks. The real estate index closed at 296.50, up .77 percent, while the oil and natural gas issues rose .36 percent to 1,251.92. The communications and media stocks declined .66 percent to 625.96.
