Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to bring for the government's approval a bill that would establish a national memorial at Mount Herzl, which would include a memorial wall that would include a brick for each soldier that fell in Israel's wars throughout the generations. The brick would be lit in honor of the soldier on the anniversary of his death. Memorial services would be held daily in the facility by families and friends of the soldiers.
The NIS 40 million facility is being paid for by the Defense Ministry, along with other government ministries. Defense Minister Ehud Barak praised the project, saying it would give families a place to remember their loved ones.
