Turkey to Spend $70M on Alternative to Israeli UAV

Turkey will soon lease five Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft at a cost of $70 million and equip them with observation and intelligence collection equipment to help compensate for operational difficulties Turkey is currently facing as a result of the poor security relations with Israel, according to ISRAEL DEFENSE.

The Website reports that the aircraft will substitute the Heron UAVs produced by Israel Aerospace Industries, which Turkey planned to use for observation and intelligence collection missions. The Heron project was halted in Turkey following the degrading of security relations between the two countries.
