Fayyad to Demand Freeze, Withdrawal, Terrorist Release

During a meeting scheduled for Tuesday in Jerusalem with Prime Minister Salam Fayyad of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to present Israel's security and to call on PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to return to talks immediately and make difficult decisions, including the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state and giving up on the return of Arabs who left when the modern Jewish state was formed in 1948.

Fayyad is expected to convey a letter in which Israel will be asked to accept the principle of any future agreement being based on pre-Six Day War boundaries accompanied by land swaps, a freeze on Jewish construction in eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the release of all terrorists held by Israel.
