The President of Tunisia Monsif Marzouqi will attend a ceremony marking the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attack on a synagogue on the island of Djerba. Ambassadors from Germany and France are scheduled to attend as well as members of the local Jewish community.
The Al-Qaida terrorist organization coordinated the attack which killed 21 people. Israel Radio reported. Djerba is located off the coast of Tunisia. There are said to be approximately 1,000 Jewish people living in Djerba. The community is said to date back to the 3rd to 5th century BCE.
