Modest losses were posted at the start of Monday trading at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. About half an hour into the session the TA Composite index stood at 1,035.23, down .15 percent, while the TA 100 declined .16 percent to 1,046.37, including a .21 percent drop to 1,134.50 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Worst hit were the communications and media stocks, which fell .78 percent to 602.87, followed by the bank index, which stood at 1,017.88, down .63 percent as the financial institutions opened at 947.28, down .52 percent, including a .54 percent decline to 1,084.18 by the insurance issues. The oil and natural gas stocks opened at 1,265.07, down .34 percent, and the real estate index slipped .15 percent to 300.32. The biomed issues stood at 755.72, down .03 percent, and the rest of the technology stocks fell .16 percent to 325.55.
