EU Talks with Iran Six Days Away

Foreign-policy chief Catherine Ashton of the European Union announced, Sunday evening, that EU representatives will meet with Iranian represenatives, starting April 14th in Istanbul, to discuss the Islamic Republic's nuclear development program.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak said, earlier in the day, that the most stringent sanctions must be exercised against the Tehran government in order to push it into a corner in an effective way. Asked by the Cable News Network about the possibility of Israeli military action in response to past Iranian threats to wipe it off the map, he said, “We have limited time. We don’t have to make a decision next week and we cannot wait years.”
