The Knesset will meet for a special session over the Passover recess to  pass a law that would regulate the legal status of new communities in Judea and Samaria known as “outposts.” The session is being initiated by Likud MK Danny Danon, who presented Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin with a petition by 25 MKs calling for the special session.

The session was being called in the wake of the High Court's rejection of a deal with residents of Migron that would have authorized the community's status. “The Likud was elected to build, not destroy,” Danon said. “We will not allow Peace Now and other leftist groups to see images of Jews evicting Jews. The Knesset has the ability to change the one-sided approach of the High Court in all issues relating to Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria. The Likud will not evict Jews,” he said.
