Prayer Vigil in Hevron for Evicted Residents

A prayer vigil will take place in Hevron for the residents of Beit HaMachpela who were unexpectedly evicted on Wednesday. Although the abandoned 3 storey building was legally purchased, Defense Ministry officials said they had the authority to evict the residents to maintain peace in the area.

Rabbi Dov Lior, the chief rabbi of the Hevron and Kiriyat Arab region will lead the event which is scheduled to take place across the street from the building on Thursday April 5th at 2:00pm.

A press release from an organization called Women for Israel's Tomorrow stated, "The public is invited to come and join the demand a return to the building that was duly purchased and to strengthen the right of Jewish residents to buy property in the city of our Forefathers. On the eve of the Passover holiday, we will pray in the field of the Cave of Machpela and connect with the purchase of Abraham 4,000 years ago."
