Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange showed modest gains at the official start of trading, Tuesday morning. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite index stood at 1,039.16, up .57 percent, and the same percentage gain meant a 1,142.18 posting for the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. Overall the TA 100 rose .59 percent to 1,052.28.
The insurance stocks led the gainers at 1,064.17, up .98 percent, as the financial institutions rose .65 percent to 939.24, including a .63 percent advance to 1,014.74 by the bank index. The real estate issues opened at 295.39, up six tenths of a percent, followed by most of the technology stocks, which rose .56 percent to 327.74, while the biomed index slipped .08 percent to 748,19. The communications/media issues rose .28 percent to 633.47 and the oil/natural gas stocks stood at 1,247.43, up .22 percent.
