Deputy Minister Gila Gamliel condemned on Monday the eviction order issued by Defense Minister Ehud Barak to the residents of Beit Hamachpelah in Hevron.
“The evacuation of the occupants of Beit Hamachpelah is careless, reckless and irresponsible, and will give a badge of shame to all the state’s legal institutions, if it is proved that the sale was legal,” Gamliel said.
“I call on the Defense Minister to accept the Prime Minister’s position and overturn the decision which evicts families from their homes without justification. Tomorrow I will visit the families to strengthen them and convey a clear message that the Government will support Jewish settlement in all parts of Eretz Yisrael,” she added.
