Egypt's Supreme Military Council  granted a pardon, Sunday, to Khairat Al-Shatr, the presidential candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood, to allow him to run in the elections. He had been convicted twice of involvement with the Muslim Brotherhood during the regime of former president Hosni Mubarak, when such activity was banned.

The council nullified Al-Shatr's criminal record.
