The Vegetable Growers Association has decided to suspend carrot exports to Russia for three months, according to a Monday morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio. Association Secretary Meir Yifrach said the decision to freeze the exports followed a decision by Russia to pay less for the carrots.
Israel exports 27,000 tons of carrots per month to Russia for a total of 300,000 tons per year.
