Ministerial Bodyguards to Strike Monday

The 170 bodyguards assigned to 22 government ministers, not including those assigned to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, announced, Sunday, that they are not going to work, Monday, in protest of their salary. They say they are employed under poor conditions, and not only is the 22-shekel hourly salary inappropriate for the work they do, their social benefits have been harmed as well.

Negotiations between the guards and their employer, Mikud, was supposed to come to an end on Sunday. The Histadrut Labor Federation claims that Mikud went back on agreements and asked to consult with the Finance Ministry.
