Kadima: MKs Respond to Mofaz Victory

MKs from the Kadima party responded Wednesday to MK Shaul Mofaz’s victory in the primary election. MK Avi Dichter welcomed the change, saying Mofaz will strengthen Kadima’s position outside central Israel. Mofaz won more votes in southern Israel and in the Arab community, while MK Tzipi Livni had more support in central Israel.

MK Yoel Hasson, who had supported Livni, called to “unite behind Shaul Mofaz and allow him to lead the party to success.” The primary goal for Kadima should be to replace Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, he added.
