MK Fania Kirshenbaum (Yisrael Beiteinu) had harsh criticism Tuesday for protesters who targeted a Knesset delegation with calls of “apartheid.”

“I don’t understand where the protesters get their arrogance and hypocrisy,” she said. “Israel is one of the biggest democracies – perhaps the only democracy – in the Middle East, while Assad is slaughtering his people and maintaining a dictatorship in his country. I didn’t see the protesters who targeted us making provocations and violent protests in order to prevent the holocaust of the Syrian people.”

Kirshenbaum added that one of the delegates was MK Raleb Majadele, formerly Israel’s first Arab minister. “How can protesters call us ‘fascist’ when an Arab MK was appointed to be a government minister?” she wondered.
