Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest gains at the start of trading on Tuesday. The TA Composite index stood at 1,040.82, up .20 percent, while the TA 100 rose .31 percent to 1,055.54, including a quarter of a percent rise to 1,151.79 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the real-estate stocks, which rose .71 percent to 290.86, followed by the biomed stocks, which stood at 751.64, up .57 percent, while the rest of the technology issues rose .53 percent to 324.37. The oil and natural gas stocks stood at 1,269.13, up .42 percent, while the financial institutions rose .26 percent to 944.35, including a .01 percent rise to 1,016.02 by the insurance index. The bank issues slipped .04 percent to 1,050.43 and the communications/media index rose .18 percent to 658.29.
