Peter Feldmann has became the first Jewish mayor of a major city in Germany since the Holocaust. Feldmann was elected mayor of Frankfurt on Sunday. He received approximately 57% of the vote. Feldmann was elected over the incumbent mayor
The last Jewish mayor of Frankfurt, Ludwig Landmann was expelled by they Nazi Party and died from starvation in 1945. Landmann was mayor 1924 until 1933 and spearheaded a massive expansion in infrastructure and other positive growth.
