Warning Against HGC Diet Products

The Health Ministry warned the public, Monday, not to purchase diet and weight-loss products containing the HGC (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) hormone, which has not been approved by the ministry. The hormone is an ingredient of weight-loss products sold on the Internet. It is produced during pregnancy and is used in fertility prescriptions.

It was recently banned by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States as a weight-loss product and steps were taken against those who market the product illegally. Shipments of products containing the hormone have been confiscated at ports and in the mail.
