Eldad: Condemn the Human Rights Council

Member of Knesset Aryeh Eldad (National Union) welcomed Monday's decision by the Foreign Ministry to cut ties with the United Nations Human Rights Council. He called on the state "not to be satisfied with cutting ties but to lead an international information campaign with a significant investment to condemn the 'human-rights' council as a platform for blatant anti-Israelism and anti-Semitism."

Professor Eldad also called on the state to lead a widespread campaign against contributions to the council and the Palestinian Authority which led to the initiative for the council to launch a probe of the impact of Jews in Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem on the rights of area Arabs. He explained, "When they understand that hatred of Israel will harm their budgets, maybe they will be cured of hypocrisy."
