Electric Company Workers Announce Sanctions

Employees of the Israel Electric Company announced, Monday, that they would take sanctions against the company, following a decision by the utility's management council to buy fuel with 600 million shekels that had been placed in a trust account for the employees, according to Kol Yisrael government radio.

The workers reportedly announced that they would stop working on a prospectus for the issuing of bonds, emergency projects will be halted and private producers of electricity will not be hooked up to the grid. The electric company said it would fight the sanctions in the labor court.
