Police have opened an investigation into an incident in which fans of the Beitar Jerusalem allegedly attacked Arab workers in the Malha Mall in Jerusalem. Police said that closed-circuit television monitors captured the images of those involved, and that police intended to track them down and arrest them, even though no complaint has been filed.

Rightwing activist Baruch Marzel called the police effort “hypocritical,” who were being attacked by police and the media for their generally rightwing views. “We only hear about when Beitar fans yell anti-Arab insults at Arab players, but we never hear how Arab fans curse and call for the death of Jews at games hosted in Arab towns,” Marzel said.
