The government on Sunday will set up a commission that will discuss the implications of legalized gambling in Israel. The commission will include representatives of the various government ministries that would administer gambling, if it were to come to pass, and discuss among other things ways to ensure that organized crime did not interfere with legal gaming, and how to ensure that minors do not get corrupted by gambling.
Several proposals have been tabled in the Knesset in recent years to allow legalized gambling in Eilat and the Dead Sea.
