The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system detected the launch of a Kassam rocket by terrorists in Gaza, Thursday evening. While the projected path of the rocket was toward the Ashkelon Coast Council region, it was not toward a populated area so no interceptor missile was launched.

It is believed that the rocket fell in the Hamas-controlled area. No injuries or damage were reported.
