Modest to sharp gains were posted on all the indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Thursday. The TA Composite index closed at 1,012.65, up .46 percent, while the TA 100 rose .45 percent to 1,025.44, including a .05 percent gain to 1,115.74 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the way were the insurance stocks, which jumped 2.37 percent to 986.06, as the financial institutions finished the trading week at 902.02, up .73 percent for the day, including a .46 percent gain by the bank index to 997.67. The real estate isses rose 1.45 percent to 280.15, most of the technology issues closed at 320.89, up 1.33 percent and the biomed stocks advanced 1.02 percent to 728.23. The oil and gas index remained the price leader, averaging 1,224.36, up nine tenths of a percent on the day, while the communications and media issues rose seven tenths of a percent to 642.56
