The suspect in a Toulouse terrorist attack is believed to belong to Forsane Alizza (Knights of Pride), an organization recently outlawed over its support for terrorism. The group was formed two years ago, and has taken part in protests against Israel and against a French law banning the burka in public places.

Suspect Mohammed Merah has traveled to Afghanistan and is believed to have links to Al-Qaeda as well. He reportedly told police that he carried out recent murders in response to French military actions and to Israeli operations in Gaza.
